The North Carolina Theatre will offer a special holiday show this year in partnership with Lythgoe Family Productions, the company that‘s behind hit shows like “American Idol” and “So You Think You Can Dance.”

From Nov. 29 to Dec. 2 at the Duke Energy Center for Performing Arts in downtown Raleigh, the nonprofit professional theater company will present featuring stars of Broadway and the small screen.

Here‘s a description of the show, courtesy of the NC Theatre:

“Based on the Aladdin fairytale of a street rat with a dream, this special holiday-themed production follows the style of the traditional British Panto with singing, swinging and soaring adventure that features family-friendly magic, comedic twists, contemporary music and more. The production is an exciting and interactive form of live theatre specifically designed for families.”

The show stars:

  • Jason Gotay as Aladdin. Raleigh audiences will remember him from NC Theatre’s hit summer production of Disney’s Newsies. Gotay‘s Broadway credits include Bring It On: The Musical and Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark (Peter/Spider-Man).
  • Nia Sioux as the Princess. She is best known for spending seven seasons on the unscripted Lifetime show Dance Moms and also is a series regular on CBS’ Emmy Award-winning daytime drama The Bold and the Beautiful.
  • Ty Taylor as the Genie. He is best known for being the lead singer of Los Angeles-based soul/rock band Vintage Trouble, but also brings Broadway credits from shows such as Pippin, Grease and We Will Rock. He‘s also toured with some of the biggest names in music including Tina Turner, Eric Clapton, Macy Gray, Fiona Apple and The Who.
