Letter: Sport hunting is wrong

Religion should be synonymous with kindness and compassion. If it is not, then it is religion that is wrong, not kindness and compassion. If religion will not openly condemn sport hunting and trophy hunting, the killing of innocent sentient beings for enjoyment and their body parts, then what good is it? Christians, who preach love and mercy, are some of the biggest killers on the planet.
To quote Clint Eastwood, “I am sort of anti-hunting. I don‘t put down what anyone wants to do, but it seems to me that killing a creature for fun is not a progressive idea.”

Sport hunting and trophy hunting should be classified as mental illnesses.
The truly religious forever stand alone, protecting the innocent from the lynch mobs of society. Only when you‘ve sacrificed yourself for those persecuted by your faith, have you earned the right to be called a part of your faith.
