Enloe starts season 8-0 for first time in school history with win over SE Raleigh

Raleigh, N.C. — Enloe is a perfect 8-0 for the first time in the school‘s 55-year history. The Eagles downed Southeast Raleigh 22-13 on Monday to keep their winning streak alive.

Enloe took an early lead and never looked back. Hamilton Moore took the ball around the right side and dove into the end zone for the score. The Eagles converted on the two-point attempt, giving them an 8-0 lead.

Southeast Raleigh responded with an interception. Jaeden Wortham was under pressure and lobbed a pass up in the air. The ball landed in the hands of Bryce Beard who ran it down to the 2-yard line just before the end of the first quarter.

Moments later, Bulldog quarterback Dominic Williams was forced out of the pocket and found a diving Noah Jackson for the touchdown. That touchdown pulled Southeast Raleigh to within a point, 8-7.

The one-point deficit held through halftime and well into the third quarter when Moore found the end zone again for the Eagles. Moore ran the ball into the end zone and the extra-point was good from Laith Marjan. The Eagles led, 15-7.

Enloe scored again with 53 seconds remaining in the game. Tyree Watson punched it in from the 6-yard line to secure the win, keeping Enloe perfect.

Southeast Raleigh scored as time expired, but it was too late.

With the win, Enloe remains undefeated. The Eagles are off this Friday and will host Leesville Road next Friday to celebrate Senior Night. Southeast Raleigh will be looking for its first win of the season on Friday against Leesville Road.
