Duke senior DT undergoes surgery

Durham, N.C. — Duke redshirt senior defensive tackle Edgar Cerenord underwent surgery on Monday afternoon to repair a ruptured right Achilles tendon suffered in the Blue Devils’ win over Georgia Tech.

Cerenord, who in four games this season recorded 14 tackles as the lone senior in Duke’s defensive line unit, will miss the remainder of the 2018 campaign. In 41 career games with the Blue Devils, the Miami, Fla., native amassed 59 tackles, 4.0 tackles for loss, one caused fumble and four quarterback pressures.

The surgical procedure was performed by Dr. Annunziato Amendola.
