Brown‘s arm leads Middle Creek past Apex Friendship, 37-0

Middle Creek shutout Apex Friendship 37-0 on Monday night, keeping the Mustangs perfect in Southern Wake Athletic Conference play.

Middle Creek scored its first touchdown after a blocked field goal attempt. Quarterback Sean Brown found Sean Horton on a swing pass for an 11-yard touchdown on the ensuing Mustang drive to make it 7-0 after one quarter of play.

Hunter Holmes added a 23-yard field goal late in the second quarter and then successfully completed an onside kick. Adam Schmitt later scored his first career touchdown on a 2-yard rush with 20 seconds left in the half to give the Mustangs a 17-0 lead going into the halftime break.

Middle Creek carried momentum into the second half. On the first play from scrimmage, Brown connected with Jamoore Ellis on a 74-yard screen pass to go up 24-0.

Brown threw his third and final touchdown of the game to Dylan Fabiszak from 8 yards out later in the third quarter to increase Middle Creek‘s lead.

The Mustangs‘ defense kept the shutout intact and improved the Middle Creek record to 2-0 in conference. Middle Creek will host Apex on Friday in a “HighSchoolOT Live” game, while Apex Friendship will take on Holly Springs.
